Mission
International Orphan Care is a non-political, non-religious, and non-profit 501c (3) humanitarian organization established in 199 and incorporated in the State of California and is focused on helping and empowering orphans in war ravaged Afghanistan. IOC’s mission is to Help Orphans be Productive and Educated (HOPE) by providing a multi-step comprehensive program which includes financial, educational, vocational and technical assistance, allowing orphans and their families to ultimately maintain financial freedom and independence. Afghanistan is a beautiful and rugged country situated in the heart of Asia. For over four decades, Afghans have been living through foreign interventions, civil war, insurgency, and widespread insecurity. It has severely disrupted Afghanistan’s economic growth trajectory, limiting economic opportunities and exacerbating poverty. By latest estimates, more than 80% of the population is living under the poverty line with the government unable to meet the basic needs for the people. International Orphan Care (IOC) was established in 1993 to help provide material, monetary and educational assistance to Afghan orphans and help them become self sufficient and productive members of society. IOC has since expanded its mission to help needy families in Afghanistan and participate in sustainable projects that improve the daily lives of Afghans
